When you choose to leave captivity and head toward true freedom you'll hit a crisis of faith, Guaranteed. It's the price of purpose. It's the cost for desiring your life to count. It's the gut-check that will result in glory given to God. The crisis is simply this: What do we do when in a bad pinch? In that spot between a rock and hard place? When standing between something impassable and something impossible?
The Exodus story is not just made for TV. If you desire to go with God and desire His best you'll find yourself between the impassable (sea that will swallow you) and the impossible (soldiers who want to kill you). This is OUR life. Maybe not everyday but every other day if you want to break free and walk in spiritual liberty. Our journey into spiritual liberty might not be as epic as the nation of Israel, but just as worthy of God's intervention.
So in this crisis we find God's crazily counterintuitive counsel..."The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent." God loves to put us in places that WE can't get out of. God will let us face battles that WE can't win, so that we can taste God's transcendent power and grace. So..."Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today." What a God we have!
